Inspired by a true case, this surprising feature film debut becomes a powerful and poetic indictment of everyday racism in Germany. The case ends up in court, but the circumstances only become life-changing in the courtroom itself.
Amal (Halima Ilter), Omar (Kida Khodr Ramadan) and their son Ahmad (Emir Taskin) form a happy Arab family who have found their home in Germany. One day, they meet a man called Franz (Nicolas Garin) in the playground. What begins as a chance encounter quickly turns into an out-of-control situation when Franz insults and attacks Amal because of her headscarf. The family is shocked and hurt, and legal proceedings are initiated to ensure justice is done. The case ends up in court, but the circumstances only become life-changing in the courtroom itself.
