WHAT ARE THE TÜRKISCHE FILMTAGE AND WHY ARE THEY ORGANIZED?

The Turkish Film Days were organised for the first time as part of the ‘Merhaba Heimat Kulturtage 2021’. The German-Turkish Recruitment Agreement celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2021. A few selected films were shown to mark the occasion. Due to the great response, it was decided to continue the Turkish Film Days.

Who organizes the Türkische Filmtage?

The Türkische Filmtage are organised by the City of Dortmund’s Department of Culture and partners.

Are there any admission charges for the films/panel discussions?

All films and the accompanying programme are free of charge.

Is registration/reservation necessary?

Cinema in the U:
Registration / reservation is not required. The first come, first in principle applies. We therefore recommend that you arrive in good time. Admission on the event days is always half an hour before the start of the film.

CineStar Dortmund:
Tickets can be purchased on the CineStar Dortmund website or at the box office.

What language are the films in? Are the films subtitled?

Most of the films are in Turkish. However, all Turkish-language films are subtitled (German or English).
