Shot in 1966, Yilanlarin Öcü is a social realist film that deals with “village realities”. The film reflects the modest life of Kara Bayram, who lives in the village with his elderly mother Irazca, his wife and their three children and cultivates his small farmland. But Kara Bayram is getting restless because a new one is to be built right in front of his house. The village chief has sold part of the village’s common land to Deli Haceli.
In 1966, the film was awarded Best Film at the Kartaca Film Festival.
